New Developments in the European Union
The summer school focused on the challenges that governments in the region are facing in light of their upcoming accession to the European Union. These processes include administrative and organisational challenges emanating from the interaction with EU institutions, but also policy challenges such as migration or the environment. The course was led by Dr Andreas Staab (EPIC) with futher support from Tony Bass (Clingendael Institute). Officials from the government of Croatia were also offering their expertise gained from holding the EU Presidency. The course adopted a mixture of lectures and pro-active learning experiences and workshops. The course agenda addressed the following topics:
